Default What was your country's position regarding South Africa during the Apartheid era?

I originally opened this thread in Spanish, since I was interested in answers from Latin Americans. However, nobody answered, so here it is in English. In Colombia's case, I think the official State position was pretty indifferent. In the UK's case, even though we did end cultural and diplomatic relations with South Africa - it even became eventually forbidden to send singers, poets and sports teams there (notably in cricket and rugby) - nevertheless there were close business relations, especially in the mining sector, however much of an open secret it was. Moreover, of course the campaign here to overthrow Apartheid was rightly big, especially in left-wing circles. All the same, I'd like to know what was your government's position regarding Apartheid, and did it differ from what much of the public thought?

Well it would have been Czechoslovakia at the time, and being in the Soviet bloc I imagine the official Government position was very anti-Apartheid.
