Default Why is Paganism Booming in Europe and Beyond?

Why is Paganism and other Occult beliefs booming in Europe, America and beyond? Today, we'll discuss a fascinating phenomenon that stretches back thousands of years, where thousands, and perhaps even millions of people around the globe are reverting to the pre-Christian religion of their ancestors. Be sure to let me know your thoughts on this interesting global phenomenon and community. Thanks for watching! Sorry but I find paganism to be very backwards and outdated.

Neo-paganism is as much a religion as any new age "discipline" could be called a religion.
Like new age philosophies, ist just a trend for bored urban bourgeois looking for "deepness" in their shallow lifes.

Booming ? I wouldn't say so, it's very marginal movement actually.

Many "neo-pagans" come off as fake or silly because their practice is not rooted in historical precedent. In the Greco-Roman tradition, we have thousands of years of pragmatic and mystical literature with which to reconstruct a system rooted in sound ritual and philosophy. The reconstruction of a polytheistic system in and of itself is a worthy goal.

We don't have written sources, wrote by the ancient germanic themselves.
From the greeks we have, among other texts, Hesiod's Theogony, with a well detailed explanation of the origins of the greek gods.
In northen europe, all the sorces are from either travelers, or christian writers that recopilated those oral traditions after many centuries of christian influence.
Also, germanic religion wasn't standardized, institutionalized and state sponsored like in the roman empire or in greek city states.

Don't want to get cyber-bullied and it's lame getting banned over one's opinions...
In another more open forum, I would give you an answer as to why Christianity is failing badly in the west and being replaced by both paganism and Islam.
