AI Generated Faces Bullshit

Over the last few weeks the media has been pushing the narrative that computers have been generating random new human faces. This is interesting to those of us interested in physical anthropology:

The faces are clearly bullshit though being nothing more than morphs of existing people to varying degrees. In fact one photo at least looks like a clear cut copy of Australian celebrity Jessica Malboy;

AI has been able to create fake pictures of people and their fake families for at least the last several years. When the government creates fake personas they aren't allowed to use photos of people that actually exist.

Although, it only generates gender-fluid mongrels, it uses features from actual photos of people, but these things tend to smudge the pictures they create like crazy.

The technology would be impossible to stop once it's open sourced. Look at deepfakes. They've banned it yet you can still find it relatively easy.
