My balkan expert Aussie friends, can we be serious for once? I'm talking about the specific custom you see in the videos called "Koleda babo". Can you show me any evidence of the same thing happening in your country? What crn linked is basically what Greeks call Kalanta (kids going to houses to sing and get money, sweets etc).

Whatever Kalanta is, it's not the Koleda the slavic speakers are celebrating in Northern Greece.

Different regions of Macedonia have slightly differing customs and traditions. So what? This applies to most ethnographic regions around the world.

Whatever Kalanta is, it's not the Koleda the slavic speakers are celebrating in Northern Greece.

I'm completely relaxed but I'm afraid once again I have to do with ignorant idiots here. Did you even bother reading my post? Your koledari custom is 100% identical to Greek kalanta that has its roots in Roman tradition.

Ironically even if "Kolida babo" has pagan Slavic origins, it exists in Greece but not in your country.
