    Most that make it to Wiki is N. Africa, as SSA had no written tradition and record keeping.....not including the Colonial era forward.

    Check this:

    In 1790, France had 382 battles won - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK5OsDWYJmQ#t=4m38s

    By 1815, it jumped to 776 battles - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK5OsDWYJmQ#t=4m43s

    So Napoleon alone won more large battles than the Roman Empire.

    =====

    Poland entered the "Top 10" in year 1610 with 63 battles won by then.

    By 1648 we had 86 battles won, while by 1667 it increased to 121, many of those were pyrrhic victories though.

    =====

    In year 1419 you can see that a lot of battles start to show up in and around Czechia, that's the Hussite Wars:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HK5OsDWYJmQ#t=3m53s

    =====

    It seems that wars of the American Civil War were counted as U.S. victories (as long as the Yankees won them).

    France was at war with everyone in Europe from 1500 onward (before that it had mostly internal wars) and it also had colonies, no wonder, however they also have more defeats (in large battles as well). In Italy for example lost many battles during the Italian Wars.

    EDIT: Napoleon's Empire is a bullshit compared to the Roman. If he won many battles in part was thanks to foreigner soldiers recruited in other countries.

    It's funny how they miss out on all the battles around the Netherlands. But maybe most of them were either sieges or naval battles.

    Wake up and smell the coffee.

    Wrong, what this video doesn't tell is the number of defeats. What should really count is the percentage of wins/defeats.

    More importantly, this also doesn't explain that until the industrial revolution (mid 19th century) France was by far the most populous state in Europe (more populous than Russia) with huge menpower resources. Once they get caught and surpassed on population by states who exploded demographically during the industrial revolution, their military record became mediocre.

    I think that some of Early Polish battles were not included, for example there is no dot on the map anywhere in Poland in year 972:
