Actually: I used that as a tactic to flush him out. I knew how people of his generation thought and what believes they taught us in school so that placed me well to confront them with it and see whether they would get defensive (instead of somewhat apologetic). They got defensive and this showed what they really think and he, particularly, laid bare his deepest sentiments towards our society. Those who have been around for the last 10 years know that is the hardly the first time I have used this (or a similar) method. I know the Left, I was soaked in it, so I also know what tactics they use in the beginning and citing a "alternative ("traditional") religion" is one frequently used by those marching onto preservationist forums.

I began to suspect them a couple of days ago - some of their posts ticked me off and this just gave me the opportunity to confront them.

Perhaps. But it wouldn't be the first time that similar "alternative" blogs or websites are used to deflect people from reading the actual material. In fact: that tactic has been around for a long, long time. Often those ideas of the right are then either ridiculed in a very subtle way or exaggerated to such an extent that it would turn away anyone deviating from the modern Leftwing party line.

We all pick and choose what we want from the different sources available, forming our own opinions. Some of what he discussed gelled with my beliefs and opinions, other parts didn't.

Maybe mate, I have a social conscience which some will read as a leftie. And in a way, they are probably correct. But I don't associate with any particular politics as all here are based on short term gain for the individual parties and politicians. I despise them all.

The relative lack of a social conscience by many is, what I always perceive to be, the Right's biggest weakness and one that the Left knows how to use against it.
