The question should be " how other Muslim people see Albanians of Islamic faith"? It's all in "what do you consider to be muslim".
This is an Albanian Islamic song from Kosovo:
Does it sounds enough Islamic for Muslim people around the world? And, these two singers, are they "true Muslims" in the eyes of non Albanian Muslim people?
It's always funny to watch other people analysing the relationship that Albanians have with religion. Especially when these people are neighbours of Albanians. It's simple really, Nations, that base their identity on religion should not try to understand the Albanian identity (based on language and blood) and their approach to religion.
By the way, i'm Muslim (by my standards of course). I'm not proud, neither ashamed, but, usually, i don't talk much about it because it's my relationship with God, a personal thing. Of course, like many Albanians i'm not interested to bond with other people through religion, it's foreign to my identity, to my being Albanian.
Albanians are multi religious people. Many of them, maybe, not so much happy when these religions are manifested at the same time, especially when they are sleeping

Albanians are secular people overall.

One thing I like about Albanians is that they don't let religion divide their own people. From the albanians I have known, they are either Muslim or orthodox. I know a Muslim kosovar girl who prays daily, and another one who is very proud she is Muslim. Most are not really practicing though I think.

I’ll answer this as a Muslim, are we proud? A lot of us are, but some aren’t, are we religious? No, but there are those who are religious, I think Islam kind of saved Albanians from becoming Hellenised or Slavicized...

No, albanians had always strong national pride and identity, it have nothing to do with islam. Islamization/ottomanization of Albania was tragedy (in my opninion) because that's why many other europan dislike them. Same happened with Turkey, I'm pretty sure if the turks had accepted christianity instead of islam, than everyone would consider them europeans today.

Please don’t talk on our behalf. Christianity is Middle Eastern religion too as well. It’s not really a tragedy, it’s a tragedy to you because you can’t claim us to be Greeks. I don’t care if other Europeans dislike us for being Muslims.

Lol that's ridiculous, Albanians only gained strong national identity during 19th century as most other nations. And if they had been Orthodox they would probably be largely absorbed into Serbian nation since Serbian patriarchate used to control Orthodox Churches in North Albania and obviously Kosovo where its center was. When Albanians adopted Islam they completely got rid of risk of being assimilated into Serbs.
