Christianity originates in the Middle East, but it is an European religion. This is because almost all Church Fathers (the early Christian writers who established the Christian priesthood) are European. Christianity's adoption as a state religion by the Roman Empire ensured that it would become intertwined with the European culture.

Christianity never took real hold of the Middle East, this is why Middle Eastern Christianity has been almost erased by Islam.

I also don't buy this excuse for Islam's spread in Albania.
Old Bulgarian was used in Romanian churches until mid 18th century. Not only that, but the top hierarchy in Romanian churches was Greek not Romanian. Half of the aristocracy in the Romanian principalities had Byzantine origins. And yet Romanians were able to preserve a strong cultural identity.

In my opinion, if Albanians reverted to Christianity in the 19th century, with the collapse of the Ottomans, they would be a larger nation today.

So you support genocide and ethnic cleansing?

To me its still a mystery how Muslim Albanians from Sandzak manged to get so easily assimilated into Serbs now becase of political reasons into Bosniaks when they formed majority in Novi Pazar,Rožaje,Plav,Tutin... I think that only in Prijepolje Muslims have mostly Slavic origin.
I have the results of someone who is fully from Sjenica and of one who is half-Sjenica and half-Novi Pazar. Both score like typical Montenegrin Serbs (which is expected as that's where their origins are from). They are posted in this thread: https://www.theapricity.com/forum/sh...slim-Autosomal

There was also one result of a Sandžak Bosniak I've seen that looked like they were a Serb-Albanian mix, but I don't have their oracle. My guess is they were from Eastern Sandžak. There's a huge shortage of results from that region.

The first settlers of Sandžak (among the current population) were Montenegrin Serbs. My guess is that the Albanians didn't come in all at once, but slowly came and their population was small enough to get assimilated. Then when more Albanians were coming, they were getting assimilated into an ethnic Bosniak population that was genetically a Serb-Albanian mix. In Sandžak, the base population was Serbian-speaking and what happened was they took in enough Albanians to assimilate them, but they didn't take in too much at once. If they took in all the Albanians at once, then they probably wouldn't be able to assimilate them. Its like how most Argentines have Italian ancestry, but they all speak Spanish. Or how most Americans have German ancestry but they all speak English.

Also, I think that the amount of Albanians in Sandžak is probably exaggerated (they barely have any presence in western Sandžak and are confined to only the east). I agree there are probably many of them, but everything about their numbers is just pure speculation so we should keep that mind.

    Of course not.
I don't understand why reclaiming the religion of your own ancestors would imply genocide and ethnic cleansing.

This user shows up in any Balkan related topic and makes comments

He even is an expert for Serbs,Montenegrins,Sandzak and what not

I wonder why a Pashtun American does care so much about all this
The Talmud tells us that the only language the Torah could be translated into elegantly is Greek.

Why does it bother you? My comments in Balkan threads are normal civil comments that contribute to the discussion and not meant to be offensive.

The majority of non-Balkan threads on TA are classification threads and threads comparing lightness, and they aren't interesting enough for me to post regularly in. I don't only post about the Balkans, its just that I post about non-Balkan regions on other websites (since they're not discussed much here). And I've posted about non-Balkan topics over here many times in the past.

Christianity is alive and thriving in places like Northern Iraq, Armenia, Syria, and lebanon. Theres no "Middle eastern christianity. " Or "European Christianity". Christianity is Christianity.

Anyway, this is like saying Islam is an Iranian religion because most muslim scholars were Iranian in origin. While its true Islam interwined with Iranian culture, it doesnt meant Islam is an "Iranian religion". Its rather part of Iranian culture
