Default How closely related genetically are Berbers to people of the Arabian Peninsula and Levant?

I would imagine a significant portion of their ancestry descends from a common proto-Afroasiatic source in the southern Levant/northern Arabia.

Berbers are not very mixed in the sense of being a heterogeneous population. They have their own cluster and differences between Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisian Berbers are minimal so they are pretty homogeneous. They are genetically closer to Libyans and Egyptians (who plot in-between Berber nations and the Levant), followed by Levantines.

I guess Berbers are not closer to Peninsular Arabians than Mainland Greeks are to Greek Islanders, for sure

And probably not closer than Mainland Greeks are to Cypriots.

    Why should they?

Depends on the country. Tunisians are closer to Levantines than Moroccans would be. This is a Tunisian:

Thats because besides Levant the largest Phoenician settlement was in Tunisia

    Tunisians are not Berbers

As you said, that is just one Tunisian. You need several samples to measure averages.

Since you used Eurogenes K15 run here is the K15 PCA:

Like I said, they have their own cluster and they are pretty homogeneous for a population that covers such a huge landmass. The Levant is a smaller region and more heterogeneous. Tunisians seem to be slightly more Levant shifted by a minimal margin.
