As an American, what do you mean by American food?

Isn't non-ethnic American food essentially Irish food?

In Poland American cuisine is connected with McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken, because only such examples exist in our area

There's all kinds of regional stuff that originated here and spans the food categories, or food that was brought from somewhere else and altered over time into something else, then there's the more traditional and somewhat bland dishes from middle America. I don't know any Irish food besides the stereotypes like corned beef and cabbage.

Italian.

Mediterranean cuisines and Indian (altough this once just ocasionally because it's heavy for the stomach).

Also like Chinese and Brazilian style BBQ.

Japanese seems also very interesting (except sushi) but there aren't many genuine Jap restos around...they mostly are based on sushi.
