Depends, the biggest outlier are the people from north Romania like the place where Eskimo/Asvarohi lives. Most of them are quite close to East Slavs.

funny enough to me even those swarthy south romanians look like dark east slavs. they got more rounded features than your typical serb. probably serbs are bit lighter overall, but to outsiders romanians would appear more slavic because many model their image about typical slavs after east slavs. light serbs probably look more like central euro slavs rather than russians

Many Romanians have actual recent East Slavic ancestry.
Tsarist empire colonized Ukraine just 250 years ago, and for that it pushed a sea of people southward. Many of them ended up in Romania.
Rusu (the Russian) is the most frequent ethnonymic surname in Romania, and the most frequent surname overall in Moldova.

Romanians, as a whole, don't look (East) Slavic at all. I have no idea why people think so.
