He knew the law and the consequences for drug smuggling in the far east - so why did he take the risk?

How many deaths would he have caused... and how many peoples lives would he have destroyed, if he'd have successfully smuggled illegal, extremely harmful, and dangerous methamphetamine into another country?

Instead of humbly accepting his very lenient sentence for being a potential mass murderer - he arrogantly opposed the soft sentence... so the judge threw the book at him this time... and I don't pity him.

I agree with China on this one.

I've more pity for all the drug-addicted victims and their relatives, rather than for some callous drug-smuggling criminal opportunist trying to make huge profits out of selling a harmful drug to people.

The Chinese were plagued by greedy Europeans and opium in the 1800s and it helped bring them to their knees. They won't allow that scenario to play out again and who would blame them. The guy is a fool who will get his just deserts.
