There is a nice variety in hair colours when they are natural, but I have the perception I see more blonde and red than brown. Brown shades are common though
I don’t think I have ever seen black hair except my Pilates instructor but she must have an Italian heritage

https://www.researchgate.net/publica...-by-gender.png click that link its clearer in the photo and you can see gender breakdown, only 1% of women have black hair! Interesting...

I asked those who conducted the study on twitter and peoples Hair colour prior to incidence of greying was noted, so probably late 20s early 30's, you had to be white and british/irish or northwest European to be asked to be included. They aimed to include people all across the UK.

total Light haired (light brown/blonde/red): 57.2% Dark: 42.8% (dark brown, black)

Interestingly the study found that there is lots of Genes to code for blonde hair, but only 1 gene to code for Ginger hair.

Eye colour is 50% blue, 30% green, and 20% brown roughly according to the largest study of British Eye colour as reported by the dailymail. These are the largest studies on British Hair and eyes to date.

    Thoughts?
Yes, but the frequencies for ginger or blond hair refers only to pure blondes and pure gingers. So this isn’t really representative.

The majority of British people are as other Northern European populations light -haired and light -eyed. What is strange is that blue eyes (50%) are about as common as they'd be in Norway, Sweden or Denmark while blonde hair is less frequent.
