Default Are Britain/Ireland Closer to France and Spain(west), or Germany, Netherlands and Scandinavia?

Do you think these strange medium haired, light eyes and pale conservative simple peoples are closer to the western european nations or the northern europeans genetically and culturally?

    PCA from users here

    PCA in general

    yamnaya dna

    from eurogenes

thoughts? I think genetically neither, northwestern europe in our own category is best.

I think you are putting the problem in a wrong way.
From the genetic point of view is well known that Irish are most NW shifted and Brits are between the Irish and Dutch people, with lots of of Brits and Dutch people overlapping.
However, the ethnicity is something different from simple genetic testing.
Is very very obvious that the Dutch people on one side and Brits and Irish people on the other side, are quite different as behavior.
From a behavior point of view is clear Irish and Brits are very close people.
To whom are the Brits and the Irish more close, from an ethnic point of view, I have no idea.
Because you opened the thread in Ethno-Cultural section of the forum, not on the Genetic section.
From the sparse info I got,I cannot tell to whom are Brits and Irish closer, from a cultural point of view, from the people that you added in the list.

You can't really take Britain as a whole, there's large diversity in the regions; South-Eastern english can plot continential, with dutch and belgians on PCA's, vastly different to south-west english, or Scots, etc.

how much of that do you think is that they speak the same language? Us Irish are a lot less introverted and much nicer than the Brits, who are a bit stuck up and dry.

What I seen at the Irish especially is that they are very communicative and extroverted but they also have a very strong fighter spirit. And they also have a very strong sense of humor and are liking to joke a lot.
They are also very warm in the relations with the other people. And they avoid useless arguments, but they stand up for their important points of view.
They are not trouble makers, but they are not soft mode people either.
Neither Scandos, neither Dutch, neither French neither West Spaniards have such a behavior.
    Is something unique in Europe.
This warmness in the communication with the other people is only seen at some Scandos.
I suppose Scotts and Welsh are same, no idea about the English.

You don't seem very nice to me; you obviously have an obsessive hatred towards Britain.

I have always noticed similarities between the Dutch and the English living on the East Coast.

Wake up and smell the coffee.
