A a very nice thing about Brits and Irish is that they are very musical people.
They have highest musical skill in folk, pop, rock etc from all the Europeans.
Not in classical music, where best skill is at Austrians and Germans,as it seems.
Lily was telling that the Londoners were singing to make themselves courage when the Nazis bombed London in WW2.
These are Singing Kelts - the Irish and the Brits.
Such voices as the Brits and the Irish got, you will not see anywhere else in Europe.
So they are a quite unique group of Europeans.

It's where germanic dna peaks in Britain, in the south-east; Norb plots with Belgium if I remember correctly and he's from that region. South-west england is much more "native".

Londoners are a weird bunch. Their humour reminds me a lot of what you would find in cities like The Hague and Rotterdam (that South-Western corner of Holland).

That would explain a lot. There is also more Danish influence on the East Coast as well.

Then those forums are, frankly, a bit of a joke. The French never left much of a biological influence there. The English are a Celto-Germanic people and the same applies to the Scots.

I can't read the article because it is behind a pay wall.

Closer to Germanic than to Iberians. To France it depends on the region but if we take the average from all regions then it is still closer to Germanics.

Rather Proto-Italo-Celto-Germanic, or more technically 'Northwestern Indo-European'. PIE was spoken ~2000 years earlier in the Don-Caspian steppe or somewhere south of Caucasus.
