It's pure insecurity and anthrotardism, in real life "nobody" cares if Iberians are lighter than Italians or vice versa
I don't have a problem when people discuss which are lighter/darker or has more/less exotic people. The problem is when people don't act honest and use exotic individuals examples and say they are the average Iberian/Italian.

I know it's inconsequential in the greater scheme of things.. but it is annoying, this childishness the OP mentions..

So many potentially rich discussions are impossible because of it.. a classic example would be a thread on the ethnogenesis of the Albanians (would be very interesting for different opinions/perspectives etc to intersect and interrelate and riff off of each other in such a thread.. )
