developing a European mystique based on : a) European classical culture, b) Christian faith, c) the conception of the honour of the medieval knights.

This definition of a Europe of Nations, uniting the European, white, Christian-civilisation peoples, excluding the communist and Muslim countries, has made
the European lefts furious. They hated Coudenhove-Kalergi until they found a way to reclaim his project and make a plan that was completely diverted from
the original, a frighteningly racist plan that is wrongly attributed to Kalergi. They even accused him of Nazism, when he was married to a Jewess, hated by Hitler,
and fled the Hitler regime at the end of 1939, taking refuge in the United States until he returned to France at the end of 1945.
