Question to Euros, South Asians and MENA: Do you see Amerinds as your distant genetic relatives?

Asking this since most members here have significant ANE ancestry which is a mostly Caucasoid component and it is shared with Native Americans (peaks among them and some Siberians like Ket, Selkup actually). This means Red Injuns (from North to South America) themselves have around 25-30% Caucasoid ancestry that is shared with West Eurasians and South Asians.

So do you consider them as your distant genetic cousins through the sharing of ANE ancestry?

Also here is the Basal-rich K7 spreadsheet from David of Eurogenes. You can also check the amount of ANE among various populations here. Here Natives seem to score around 45% ANE with the rest 55% of their genes being Asiatic.

Cus u and Sud Asians in general have signifcant ANE ancestry (arend 30 or more% ANE if remember korrektli) just lyk Amerindians aldo dey haf more.

personally I think ANE is very vague. im still not sure what it is exactly. This component is just described as general west eurasian with some mongoloid mix but not sure. The populations with the highest ANE are native americans and south asians, who look nothing alike. Its kind of like the baloch component where all west eurasians have it to an extent but the two regions again that have it the most are south asians and west asians who have very few similarities.

To answer the question, as a south asian i do not feel any affinity towards native americans. To me they are just a mongoloid group that branched off from Northeast Asians.

You make a good point. Other than that ANE connection, there isn't anything that these populations are alike. In this case, it seem Amerindian's ancient Asian ancestry are the main contributor to most of their features.

We can conclude tho that Native Americans can actually be considered "mixed race" like Central Asians, Polynesians, Horners, South Asians. As Red Injuns are between primary archaic Northern Asian+ 23-30% ancient West Eurasian (related to Paleolithic Europeans from what I read on Eurogenes) from their ANE ancestry + minor ASI-related component (from what i heard it is similar to something that is indigenous to South Asians and that it is also from ANE).
