My only bad experience abroad and facing with ethnic discrimination was from Trieste. I ate pizza with my brother in one restaurant near the Grand Canal and one old woman entered and started conversation with waiters and other guests (she was probably a regular customer or owner or their relative or something). Once she looked at us and told a girl "Schiavi". I accidentally heard it and looked at her with anger and disgust.
