Shall we rename the forum? Since there seems to be political agreement on the matter, it seems the logical thing to do.

I've been waiting for such a thread to pop up from someone. And I've decided what i will do if this was ever to happen. And that is that i will leave the forum for good.

Oh, was this decision not well received in Skopje? To be honest, it's all the fault of the EU and NATO trying to bring your country into their geopolitical sphere, it's an aggression against relations with Russia.

It's all just forced. Like you said, it's all just a way to remove any chance of Russian interaction in European countries. It's all political games at the expense of the people involved. Namely, the people who identify themselves as ethnic Macedonians, who live not only in the small land locked former Yugoslav republic, but also in the greater region of Macedonia and all over the world in the diaspora.

I vehemently disagree with constitutional changes, not only as a person of Macedonian ancestry, but also as a human being, first and foremost. I just feel so sorry for my forefathers who fought and died for an independent FREE Macedonia.

But, this is your forum. You may do as you wish with it.

The majority of the people oppose it as made evident by the small turn out of people who went out to vote in the referendum last year. They got under the 50% voter turn out threshold, which made the vote null and void. The majority of voters boycotted the referendum all together. Yet the government still went ahead and voted for it in parliament, against the will of the citizens. The right wing Christian democratic party (VMRO-DPMNE) is against it. It's the Socialist leftist party (SDSM) and ethnic Albanian parties who are pushing for it.

Wrong, Albanians do not push for it, never mind that cunt Ali Ahmeti, Albanian Parties just like Macedonian parties are a bunch of corrupt nepotic shitholes, Ali Ahmeti can talk all he wants about the name change and the facts will remain what they are, if you go out and ask the average ethnic Albanian how does he feel towards the name change he will be indifferent, did Albanians vote for the name change, yes they did, however it is not for the reasons you think, Albanians were pro Name change for different reasons than that of Greeks, actually Albania is the only country that neighbors Macedonia who has accepted Macedonia as a nation under Macedonia, who has recognized the Macedonian language as a legitimate language and recognized the tiny Macedonian minority of Small Prespa as a legit Minority and also accepts the Autocephaly of the Macedonian Orthodox Church, unlike the other neighbors.

Albanians simply could not give a damn whether you call yourself Macedonian, Slav or what have you, the reason why Albanians voted for the name change is because of the hope and promises for changes and further integrations into the EU, NATO and other geo political alliances otherwise, I know the average Albanian mindset, yeeees you do have the type of Albanians that will call you a Slav and not real Macedonian but those are such a tiny minority that it is not even worth talking about, the concern of the Albanian part is the economic stagnation, political instability and nepotic political games played in the name of Nationalism which take us nowhere.

I do not know if you have been up to date, but the last 4-5 years almost 30% of the Albanian population left Macedonia, most of them work in Germany and other places.

p.s: when you said Albanian parties pushed for it, you were correct, however I wanted to make it clear that there is a big difference between Albanian parties and Albanians.
