Albanians may prefer that Macedonia didn't get into NATO though. If no NATO for Macedonia, then Albanians would have it easier to divide the country and be part of Albania?

I know what the attitude of the average Macedonian on the matter, however I am curious what do you think about it?

First of all, I did not go out on the name referendum but I do think that we are onto something good and I do think that Northern Macedonia is actually quite a good deal when you think about it, the name Macedonia sill remains and we will not be the first country in the world to be called northern or southern, you had the case with North vs South Vietnam, you got the case between North vs South Korea, none of these countries is any less Korean just because they are north or south, the prefix is just a location identifier like a kind of IP Address.

Ultimately you have to think whether this dispute is actually worth the life and future of the Macedonian youth and people, I think if it was not for the name dispute we would have been in the European Union together with Bulgaria and Romania.

Think about it. With the agreement the relations in Greece-North Macedonia will be stabilize. You can even return in Florina,your ancestral home.. Only a fool is against the agreement.

you seriously think that Albanians still care about dividing the country when Albanians are leaving the country in droves.

The Veliko Albanskiot Son is dead bro, that dream was part of the Albanian mindset up to the liberation of Kosovo, Albanians really did have high hopes that a Unity of the Albanian people will make us more prosperous however that is not the case now, 95% of the Albanian youth is totally disillusioned with that idea, Kosovo is at the brink of a collapse, Albania is not really doing that well, Albanians from Macedonia are simply leaving the country.

When I mentioned that 30% of the Albanian population left the country, 90% of that 30% are young people who are supposed to stay and divide the country, I do not know who will be dividing Macedonia now My 65 years old father who can barely see or my 60 years old uncle who farts while he walks.

If you go in Kosovo and see the situation it is even worse, once the EU liberalizes the visas for Kosovo that is it, Kosovars will be leaving in Droves, it was quite obvious during the Syrian refugee crisis, thousands of Kosovo Albanians got cought pretending to be Syrian refugees cuz they wanna leave the country.

It's all just forced. Like you said, it's all just a way to remove any chance of Russian interaction in European countries. It's all political games at the expense of the people involved. Namely, the people who identify themselves as ethnic Macedonians, who live not only in the small land locked former Yugoslav republic, but also in the greater region of Macedonia and all over the world in the diaspora.

I vehemently disagree with constitutional changes, not only as a person of Macedonian ancestry, but also as a human being, first and foremost. I just feel so sorry for my forefathers who fought and died for an independent FREE Macedonia.

But, this is your forum. You may do as you wish with it.

Vojnik, your ancestors did not fight for a free Macedonia. When did this happen? What war? Who was in charge? Against whom did they fight? What army were they a part of? What year(s)? You are free to have an opinion about the deal, but for the right arguments. Don't kid yourself.

And also, what did you loose in this deal? FYR of Macedonia (FYROM) has become North Macedonia, while you are still referred to as Macedonians. North Macedonia is a geographic reality. You solved an issue with a neighbor, open the roads to the EU and political stability in the region. Consider that your basic line of though is the need to monopolize the name Macedonia.

As for the change of the name of this thread. The deal has not been ratified yet by the Greek parliament. It is still not official yet.
