How much influence does this party have? I did not understand what is happining on Turkey. Is AKP a leftist or rightist party? As far as I know AKP is pro immigration (what usually the leftist staff agree), and it is pro islam (conservative about cultural topics) - what is a rightist view.

They got quite a lot of votes in the last election but as far as I'm concerned I don't think they have a chance. As for AKP, it is a right wing/conservative party. In Turkey things are not as black and white as things are in the west. Nothing is.

No surprise there. Erdogan seems like a guy who stands up to Israel on the outside, but he has secret deals with them behind the curtains. I wouldn't be surprised if the AKP was designed to put Turkey under the rug in order for Israel to have total hegemony in the middle east.
