The Irish are "whiter" than WASPS, they were mostly persecuted for their religious affiliation ( Catholics). Italians on the other hand in some Southern states were hard to classify as Whites in the late 1800's. Many had also Anglicized their names.

White did not always associate with skin color. It was a more social thing. Irish, Germans, and Italians at different stages were not considered white by some anglos but they all were always technically white. They were allowed to be citizens. There was even an Italian governor of the most racist state Mississippi in the late 1800s. So they could assimilate if they wanted too. They certainly did not have it nearly as bad as blacks. Some Irish were also looked at as worse than blacks to some. This is due to them being stereotypes as drunks and bums. It was all a bunch of crap but it should not be forgotten.

Sweden is one of the most studied peoples in the world, you just have to look at data from before WWII or a bit later, befor leftism entered the academic life, Bertil Lundman probably being the most well-known anthropologist.

Can't say for Norway, but it's been studied well for shure, i just can't pinpoint the exact authors. As for Estonia they have extensive studies, i even have a book on my PC, but it's in Russian from late 80-s.
