Bomber Command memorial which honours Lincs airmen defiled

Investigations are continuing after vandals targeted a memorial which honours those who served in Bomber Command.

The memorial in London's Green Park, which commemorates more than 55,500 members of the Bomber Command who died in the second world war, was covered in white paint yesterday. A statue of Sir Winston Churchill which stands in New Bond Street in the capital was also damaged.
