A girl from County Durham is now able to pick up objects as small as a marble after having two bionic hands fitted.
At 15-months-old Tilley Lockey, from Consett, survived meningococcal septicaemia, but her hands and toes were amputated.
The hands were designed by Open Bionics, based in Bristol.
In 2016 Tilly was fitted with one of their first prototypes.

Amazing. Medical science can do a lot to do to mitigate some of our suffering. Undoing the damage, for now, is impossible but I am sure that, in the future, it will be possible to grow entire limbs in laboratories.

Maybe entire limbs will be able to be grown in labs in the future. Maybe scientists will clone spare body parts. Mechanical heart pumps have replaced organ donations during heart transplants.Originally Posted by The Lawspeaker
