It's a good thing and if you're eligable for dual nationality you should take both of them; could come in handy.

If your ancestry is 50/50, the choice is completely ambiguous. So, nothing rational in there, and that’s just one example.

You should pick one or the other (Presumably whichever country you were born and raised in). If there was a war between the two who would you support?

While the view of choosing the one in which you’ve been born and raised may seem intuitive to some, it doesn’t click with me. Actual ancestry is what matters to me, not the culture. And if there was a war between Basques and Czechs (I kinda chuckled when thinking about that), I’d not participate, as both sides of my heritage are equally important for me.

And apparently neither are important enough for you to be a real Nationalist.

I’m more of an ethno-tribalist than a nuts and bolts nationalist. But that is my concern only. I can imagine someone with the same ancestry and similar values to be reasonably anti-Spanish and anti-Russian, for example. I see it in a way that your brother, even if he puts you through some shit, is still your brother.

Would you consider giving this guy the French nationality (because he has still only a "titre de séjour" to buzz around) ?
why not, i had known several european hobbos, for many reasons they have a real break up from there land/family core/friends and related, why? it's not always obvious to understand, i had known a german, like that ,peter ,who dies like a dog a few years later, peter was a very nice guy,but who cares now,in our selfish societies

it's not some isolate cases like that you should worried, really, and it's not them who are sinking our economy but thousands of extra-europeans who live at the hoocks of the welfare state, while so many ethnic european natives are unemployed, think about it,i defend the national or european preference, because it should be the norm, many countries do that, many democratic countries hold the nationality as preferencial,it's even writen black on white in the constitution than nationals ,than you could enlarge to european citizens now, than the nationals are prioritary for working ,flats etc ..but not everywhere unfortunatly,it's why i'am ethno-differencialist but with a real understanding of the world and what's also it makes me special, it's why also i don't always go in the sens of some political ideologies, but there is a limit to everything, believe me dear folks,i could understand the pain and the suffering but there is a time where you need to choose between you and your love ones and related and the others, every structured society do the same, even in the animal world, and then since the cavemen, but many people are blind and numb, brainwashed, thinking than we live in a "big kumbaya party", the day than they will waking up,if they waking up,will be harsh, brutal without any form of conscession
the more will be preferencialist the better there is , as an complete opposition of a globalised world drived by a bunch of puppeteers counting the MŁ$€ on the back of the rest of the humanity

    Nationality/Citizenship shouldn't be a matter of choice.

I love having dual citizenship (Sweden/Brazil). Especially from a financial point of view. I can earn first world money and invest in a third world economy with ease, since I not only know the language, but also need 0 visas to start a business there and suffer no legal or social discrimination for being a foreign investor. I could also (if I were morally bankrupt), borrow some money from one country and go live in the other. If it is a small amount, the bank in country A won't be willing to chase you down as it would involve a lot of back-and-forth bureaucracy between embassies. It's also not illegal to owe money to a bank or the state. It feels wrong, though, so I'd never do it.
