Having it online and translated to at least Turkish would be great.Don't mind going there as i do go holiday there a lot but easier to research from home.

I have managed to go back a few generations on my ancestry so far.The earliest born was in 1834 would like to get all of them around that time.

If you don't mind can I ask which villages your parents were from?

    Karpas area

Galinoporni (Kaleburnu) & Koroveia (Kuruova) mainly.

My Grandmother from Father's side came from Agios Andronikos (Yesilkoy) which i suspect some of my Greek dna came from as that village had strong Greek Cypriot population but not as many Greeks was in the other villages.

Surprised your not Luricinali, everybody seems to be from there lol.
You are lucky that all of those villages are in the North. I have roots from 4 villages but only 1 is located in the north.

I have heard of Linobambaki being in that area. Did you mean Lurucina not heard of Luricinali

Yeah i feel bad for the displaced people and we got lucky that when the conflicts was happening they only got as far as Koroveia before retreating.I still hear the stories about how all the local villages was encamped at Galinoporni.

Seeing all the old houses your ancestors lived in and raised their children really means alot and i feel bad for the people that can't experience that.

Yea i briefly saw articles on them before will have to read up a bit more

If this qoute is the be believed would explain the varied mix i seem to have.

''The origin of the name Galinoporni is obscure. Some claim that it derives from Greek name for French prostitutes: Galia (French) porni (prostitute). It is also claimed that during the Lusignan period, the village was used as a place of banishment for prostitutes who had diseases (Erciyas 2010, 104)''

I was born and raised here all my life so I don't really have that same connection that other people have.
The way that I see it, people move around all the time and plus it was all in the past so it doesn't matter.
