I can only say that Serbs should rely only on theirself and nobody else. Russia showed how much "love" Serbia when allowed 1999 year bombing to happen. More and more Serbs are avare today of that, politic is just an interest, and yes, these people were paid to come here, most of them. And OP lives in a fairy tale.

I agree politics is mostly interest based, however, is the Serbian people aware what situation Russia was facing in 1999? Russia was practically BANKRUPTED due to those oligarchs running off with Russia's wealth. You have to admit, Russia is much more different than Russia 20 years ago, just compare the GDP at 1999 to 2019. Believe me, l know Russia has her gremlins, an Askenazi Banking Chadbad ones who have heaps of influence over Putin. Yes, l would love Serbia not to rely on no one BUT the modern game is you have to choose either one or the other, and for Serbia's sake she needs to choose Russia! Always GO OPPOSITE TO SOROS and western banking interests.

As you allude, the Balkans will always be of geopolitical significance.

My only contention is that while Putin may consider Serbia strategically important (I wouldn't say said strategic concern is coupled with anything more than nominal fondness/brotherliness)..

Yeah dear Novi Pazar it is very smart strategy to play different surrounded with NATO and EU members, soon parts of Serbia can choose the same path until only Belgrade left, very smart indeed.

Why allow camp Bondsteel? Every other country is rushing in for NATO, couldn't this be suicide from a Russian Mega Bomb, one press of the button, and good bye Charlie. Unfortunately, for Serbia's security from NATO pack (of dogs) a Russian mega base of camp bondsteel size needs to be built.
