Well, rose color represents the area where Baltic hydronyms are presented but are not often and some of them are doubtful. In this sense, most likely south of Pripet is the place origin of proto-Slavic, so previous Baltic-type hydronyms are just replaced with new language-type hydronyms (proto-Slavic), and there are plenty of them, south of Pripet river.

I don't know what is the place of origin.

But in my opinion Ukrainian_Belgorod sample on GEDmatch is autosomally similar to Proto-Slavs. Also Y-DNA studies have shown that modern Belgorod, Kursk, Oryol and Bryansk Oblasts of Russia have high frequencies of I2a-Din, R1a-Z280 and R1a-M458. All 3 Proto-Slavic haplogroups are abundantly present in this one area.

It doesn't necessarily mean that the homeland was there, just that this area until today preserved the original genetic profile better than other areas.
