Conquer yourself or Conquer the world...which is more important to you and why?

i'd like to conquer the world to make it a better place. there'll be lot of bloodshed! but if this is the bitter pill that we have to swallow, we will do it. conquering my own would mean that I am not satisfied with myself or have any particular need to be conquered. Someone who is unable to control his own mind/body cannot change the world.

This world would probably be way less advanced without colonialism and capitalism, not to mention people like me wouldn't exist.

I mislike the connotations of "conquer" (it is suggestive of racism, colonialism and capitalism)
