I was in Sweden at New Year time. For sure I discussed about this topic too (just generally) with 2 of my cousins and their friends ... girls about my age (in Jönköping/Småland and in Lund/Skåne). I don't know about those per cents (video) ... but I got a feeling that they ''feel'' more ''worries/fear'' than Finnish girls. Just like earlier....

Luckily I did't face any problems (good to travel with your parents). We stopped in Stockholm shortly. I visited in Old Town ... I was alone maybe 30min ... checking some my favorite small shops there ... and one dark guy tried to ask my phone number. I replied him in Finnish that I don't speak Swedish. Luckily I was inside of one shop. Worked that time.

Just mentioned that to point out that those guys are ''active'' away which is not ''standard'' in Scandinavia.
Meaning: I hardly was any kind of exception.

There seems to be a real problem

In its 2018 report, Nationella trygghetsundersökningen 2018 (tr: "national survey of safety 2018") the Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention stated that there had been an increase in the self-reported number of victims of sexual crime among from 4.7% in 2016 to 6.4% in 2017. In the 5 preceding years there were escalating levels compared to the 2005–2012 period where the level was relatively stable. The increase in self-reported victimisation was greater among women than among men. While the number of male victims remained largely constant over the timespan (see graph). The questionnaire polls for incidents which would equate to attempted sexual assault or rape according to Swedish law

Yeah, a lot more self-reports, and always more reports from women than from men.

There is indeed a real problem, but it is also mixed up with common paranoia and imagination on the problem.
