The Russian S-400 Triumf Air Defense System is considered to be the most advanced serially produced air defense missile system in the world. It is designed by Almaz Antey corporation which is a Russian state-owned company. S 400 is one of the best examples of Russian prowess in arms technology. Patriot PAC3 deigned by U.S. defense contractor Raytheon is one of the most well-known air defense systems in the world having been exported to many countries. Another US-made system is Terminal High Altitude Area Defense or THAAD. It is designed by Lockheed Martin. When American or European made equipment meets Russian equipment ? What happened to the Migs ? Got shot out of the sky and splattered over Iraq, Syria or Egypt. The famous T72's ? Met either Merkava's, Challengers or Abrams and were consigned to the dustbin of history (crew and all since they were death traps with the most flammable part of the tank, the munitions, stored right around the commander's hatch and with an autoloader that had the tendency to load arms instead of shells. With these historical results behind us, I suspect some Israeli F16's (We're not even talking about F35's here) might soon make short work of them like they are already doing to the Pantsir 1. Let them think they're building something good. Soon they will spend themselves in another 1991.

The Migs were interceptor fighters cover an area without SAMs and for fast air combat (shoot and run). Currently the MIG 29 is intended for attack MIG-29 SM and MIG 35, these fighters are better equipped, It's expensive to keep (F16 it's better in this respect). F15 is a different jet, has more autonomy, carries many weapons, radar of great capacity and resistant to anti-aircraft artillery. Its equivalent is SU-30.
T-72 It's a good tank of 2° generation, Iraqui operated a basic version, M1 abrams it's a tank of 3° generation superior in all respects. T72 is currently better equipped, but it's a second line combat tank.
US has great equipment, but does not transfer technology, which means you can not upgrade and shoot missiles of self-made. EU has great equipment, but they are expensive and small quantity (France has abandoned the Mirage 2000 it was not a good idea).
The advantage of US on the Soviets has always been money.
Russia is currently having difficulty to modernize its army, etains much weaponry from the Soviet era.
