Without a doubt, SOMA.

I havent had a game that made me get scared just by diving into my thougths alone, let alone haunt me for the days to come after i first finished it.

Soma is not scary as Amnesia but have very good and interesting story. Damn i miss playing these games. Did anyone played Amnesia the bunker?

Amnesia: Dark descent.

That game was a groundbreaker. Until that point, most horror games were scary because of bad/difficult controls or jumpscares. This game, though, it had no jumpscares. No combat whatsoever.

It had atmosphere. It had you too scared to go into the next room, hiding in a cubboard just to catch your breath. It had you running from monsters you did not even see, and had you fear and love the darkness.

Amnesia : The Dark Descent is my absolute favorite and Resident Evil.

Between Silent Hill and Resident Evil, both are great titles and very different each other.
I can't wait to put my hands on this:

I already did an upgrade on my computer to extract most of its immersion, and with ray tracing, it would look marvelous.

I am cautiously optimistic about the SH2 remake. I keep thinking about the disappointing HD remaster of the original 2 and 3...yikers. Bloober did one decent game "Observer" with Rutger Hauer. And the overhyped "Layers of Fear". Hopefully, they are up for the task.
