    Nice thread.

A comparison of the two modes of self are interesting, but there is no reasonable/meaningful way, IMO, to declare one better than the other.

The individual needs one or the other at one time or another.

Society needs one or the other at one time or another.

Our species needs one or the other at one time or another.

Introverts can learn extroversion, but typically not vice versa.

Extroverts. Extroverts have an easier time getting along with others and forming social networks. It's easier because others are also extroverts, and they have a hard time understanding introverts. They even write books about us, claiming we're mysterious and that we have odd ways of doing things. lol.

One might argue along the following lines..:

We needed that first early human who found himself inside his own thoughts for long enough, contemplated some or other animal long and "right" enough, for him to attempt describing that animal's likeness onto the cave wall using some or other natural color.. and then, of a sudden, cognition has changed forever, and, in due course, language is born..

Subsequent to that, we needed someone like Hammurabi, who was presumably extroverted enough to coalesce about himself enough of the right elements/phenomena, and of a sudden, our species' trajectory has been amended again..

    ***

Caesar's introversion served him well.. but so too did his extroversion..

IMO, human history is dominated by extroverts something similar to how Super Bowls are dominated by Quarter Backs..

IMO, human history is fostered by introverts something similar to how Academy award winning films are fostered by Directors..

Sometimes it can but it might take bad life experiences+depression.

Humans thrive on extroversion, and extroversion is one of the many building blocks for society; people willing to communicate with ease, to achieve things.

And yet, often, introverts have the most important/wonderful things to communicate..
