It all depends on what you want to see in Russia. For example, in Moscow or Sochi everything is optimized for tourists, and you risk not seeing "real" Russia with your beloved athmosphere. In St. Petersburg is already better in this regard. Sevastopol was almost completely rebuilt under Stalin, for it was destroyed (twice in 100 years).

On the ruins of a vanished highly developed civilization.

An interesting and even intriguing report of five reckless guys who illegally (without a fee to Roscosmos) drove to Baikonur in their car to watch the start of the next Soyuz. They threw a car in the steppe and walked 28 km to the perimeter of the cosmodrome, hiding from the guards. They really managed to get to the Buran's launch pad and the cyclopean structures of Energia, and spent the night in the giant workshop of the dynamic test bench. But the most interesting thing in the report is not the start of an ordinary, in general, rocket - but the fact that they watched a small "Energy" in the workshop, and then went to the neighboring workshop, where there were two more Burans that were not flying. Moreover, they managed to get into one of the Burans directly into the cabin - through the cargo compartment and the docking station.
Date of the "excursion" - 04/19/2017

For me its interesting how another Slavic country neglects potential touristic attractions in the same way as mine.

Because it is an absolute shame and clear evidence of what capitalism leads to in countries for which this socio-economic system is unacceptable.
