No, the story took place at a party, both were present and a dispute start between them, can't tell the original "motives" though. JCVD ask to go outside the place to have some explanation but the other moron refused. It was an ex mobster who was working as body guard for Hollywood people, apparently JCVD was high or drunk and acted like a dick, so the other guy wacked him right away.

Only living there can explain parts of their culture and how the society works. Well, I spent 3 months there, lived with japanese people and dated a japanese girl.

And yes, it's flawed. That's why many westerns who go there thinking about "perfection" go back saying a lot of shit about Japan.

A simple example is to explain how Yakuza works there. Basicallly the state recognized they could not deal with Mafia and literally make a non-agression pact with them. Still, isn't common to see extorsions like groups beating up shop owners because they did not pay the "mensal fee" to them.

Heck, I'll not even say about how prostitution works for example...

Correct, no society is perfect, but the shit going on in Japan is done in a more orderly way. Compare it with another country with similar or even smaller populations.
