1.5% of adult women in the UK, though it is self reported, they may just be dark brown claiming black.

I'm sure I've seen data before, it exists almost everywhere in Europe I believe. Obviously, it generally becomes less common as you go north. I have always been interested in black or near black hair as some in my family have it. Hopefully someone can come up with some stats and post it. How would you characterize your hair Nato, dark brown, near black, jet black?

The Celtic fringe of the British Isles, and the Baltic states/Finns I guess have the most in their respective corners of Northern Europe, despite being among the most genetically Northern.
    Spoiler!

I think the UK may have more dark haired people than other countries at similar latitude (Belarus, Baltic states). Norway more than Sweden and Finland. I could be wrong though, it could be just a stereotype.

Nevertheless Poles have more Black hair than Balts/Finns, and Bretons/Northern French more than Insular Celts, but those peoples stretch into Central European territory.

Lithuanian girl I like has similar pigmentation like me (black hair, blue eyes and light skin). I asked her is she exotic in Lithuania and she said no. Most Balts are blond but black hair is not even super rare, according to her.

If you add dark brown it's probably no more than 10% in countries like Sweden or Finland.
