Do you hear an internal monologue when you read?

I normally do. But when I was watching Shtisel I realized I had no internal monologue when I was reading the subtitles. I just heard Hebrew in my head instead.

When I read I hear the thoughts, so to speak.. there is a voice which speaks the sentences on the page.

Same with me, but it doesn’t seem to happen with subtitles.

Same.. when I read subtitles there is no voice speaking to be heard.. it's kind of like the meaning of the subtitled words register in my mind very efficiently and effectively both..

I experience the whole process as very fluid in other words.

Maybe it happens to me with Hebrew because I know some words. So I focus on the words I know and the meaning, so I forget all about English or inner monologues.
