since the brunn phenotype is a popular description for anybody with red curly hair

The so called Bruenn type, Or so called Irish UP type might have entered Ireland in the Bronze Age.
Nothing prevent this theory.
The earliest Irish might have been just an ancient Mediterranean variant that was submerged by following invasions.

90% genetic replacement just 3k years ago mate, they did have a significant effect, the out of Iberia theory is from like 2008, and is no longer taken seriously. The confusion was based on the following:

- Britian and Spain are both R1b - but it came to spain much later from around the Netherlands/Germany and only effected the Male lineage.
- The Neolithic Britons (who got 90% replaced) are similar to spanish neolithics.

But today Brits and Irish are closer to Russians and ukranians than basques genetically, there is no genetic connection beyond both being Europeans.
