Default Which Latin American countries do you associate with Africa and being "Black"?

Most people seem to make the assumption all Afro-Latinos are from the Caribbean, but I find people more readily associate Dominicans with blackness than either PR or Cuba.

For me only DR would have blacks and mulatos as over 50% of the population. But Im sure international media portrays Brazil to be like DR, so some foreigners would also think about Brazil. That being said, countries with honorable mentios:
    -Cuba
    -Colombia
    -Panama
    -PR
    -Brazil
    -Venezuela
    -Equator
    -Uruguay

None to very little african admixture:
    -Chile
    -Bolivia
    -Argentina
    -Peru
    -Mexico

    Dominican Republic.
While Brazil has lot's of black people, gringos (because of ignorance or agenda driven) tend to darkwash this country, make it seems more African than it is.

Cuba, PR, DR, Honduras, Nicaragua, CR, Panama, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Uruguay. In fact, the percentage of Blacks in several of those countries is higher than in the US (13%).

I guess I'd ask it this way: which Latin American countries, when you hear of, would you naturally expect the person to be black?

Like if someone said "My girlfriend is meeting us here, she'll be here any minute. Look out for the _____ girl when she comes in." Which fill in the blanks would you naturally expect them to be black?

To me, Dominican is the only one I'd almost 100% picture a black person walking in, because even though I maintain most Cubans today are black, there is a greater chance of them being white than a Dominican.

The black population in most of these countries is higher than the US. Keep in mind that they differentiate between blacks and mixed people whereas almost anyone with known black ancestry is considered black here.

OK, based on that definition, then only Dominicans.

Talking for average brazilian known, we will recognize as blacks: ourselves, Colombia and Cuba. I dont think average brazilians know about Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico existance.

Despite not being on options, people here really think Haiti is some african country. I still remember when I got an interstate bus to SP and a woman in a near seat was talking with some haitian immigrants, then she said to a couple of haitians close to her: "I've been in Angola, nice place there".

I'd view it this way. Tell me if you agree.

Almost certainly going to be black: Dominican
Likely, but not certain, to be black: Cuban
Possibly will be black with good chance: Puerto Rican, Brazilian
Possibly, but most likely not, black: Venezuelan, Panamanian, Colombian
Unlikely to be black: everywhere else

Put Brazilian in the penultimate category then I'd agree.
