80% dark eyes figure for Spain is defined as "dark by Beddoe" referring to an English ethnologist who defined light eyes as only blue and light gray without any green shades. According to this definition his own studies give England about 65% light eyes. The 77% figure includes dark green or even hazel. British Anthropometric committee found 70% light eyes in England. By this definition, Spain would be definintevely more than 20% light, according to one study it's 26%, that sounds about right.
