The European Parliament set clear conditions this week for Bosnia and Herzegovina to start on the path to membership European Union: the enactment of legislation to regulate the restitution of property stolen from Jews in the Holocaust.

Jakov Finci, president of the Jewish Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina, hailed the decision, which he said was a "powerful call for long-awaited legislation in Bosnia to provide justice for Holocaust survivors and their families, and to the Jewish community and other religious communities."

Not really sure what they want. They should define "What" was stolen, "how" and by whom. It's hard to fault "Bosnia" as a)Croatia was the occupying force during the war and b)Yugoslavia and its heavy Communist beginning were not exactly gentle when it came to property.

NDH officials in Bosnia were mostly muslims who declared as Croats, your collaboration was huge. Entire Black Legion and SS Handsar were made of muslims, historical fact.
So don't call it occupation when huge part of your population took active role in ''occupying forces'' lmao.

It's normal to ask stolen property, Jews are just more organized and into legislation than other peoples,
but other communities could ask restitution too, a lot of land was nationalized by communism.

Anyway Bosnia won't enter in the EU.

EU Parliament urges Bosnia and Herzegovina to address Shoah restitution

For the first time, the European Parliament has called on Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to address the restitution of property that was seized during the Holocaust, as a condition to being considered for EU membership.

In a resolution adopted last week by 468 to 123 votes, with 83 abstentions, the European Parliament called on BiH to “ensure the right to property”; pointed out “the lack of a comprehensive legislative framework on handling restitution claims” and encouraged the authorities “to open a dialogue with interested parties on issues pertaining to the restitution of, or compensation for, seized property.”
