    Default Pigmentation of Slovenians

Slovenian army recruits in 1903 (Weisbach):

    Eye color:

    Hair and skin color:

Slovenian Boys and Girls in 1930 (Škerlj):

Slovenian girls with regional differences (Štajerska, Gorenjska, Ljubljana, Dolenjska, Kras, Primorje) in 1931 (Škerlj):

    Slovenian athletes in 1935 (Škerlj):

Then there is of course that eye color study on Wikipedia that has been posted many times. If anyone has any more data post it here.

I also have numbers for Slovenia's neighboring countries (Austria, Croatia and Bosnia) if anyone is interested.

hh= hell, hell - meaning both hair and eyes are light
dd= dunkel, dunkel - meaning both hair and eyes are dark.
    hd and dh are combinations

Interesting how highest amount of dark haired, light-eyed people come from Gorenjska (Upper Carniola). My father is from there and he is black haired, blue eyed just like me.

Largest percentage of light haired, light-eyed girls

    1. Ljubljana (just city or wider region ?) - central Slovenia
    2. Primorje - westernmost coastal Slovenia
    3. Kras - southwest Slovenia
    4. Gorenjska (Upper Cariola) - northwest Slovenia
    5. Dolenjska (Lower Carniola) - central-south Slovenia
    6. Styria - northeast Slovenia

Too bad there's no spearate data on Carinthia/Koroška which looks to be the lighest region and Prekmurje (extreme east bordering Hungary) which wasn't studied.

But it looks like Western part of Slovenia is lighter than Eastern part. I'm suprised how highly ranked littoral part bordering Italy is.

Slovenian regions with highest amount of dark-haired, dark-eyed people according to this:

    1. Kras
    2. Primorje
    3. Dolenjska
    4. Štajerska
    5. Ljubljana
    6. Gorenjska

Smallest amount of wogs in Gorenjska !

Southwest is most wog,but at the same time has above average amount of full light people. Styria is one of darker regions, didn't expect that. They have both lot of fully dark girls and below average concetration of light ones.

Less red hair than expected, according to it only circa 1% among Slovenian people. In Poland it can be 1-2%.

Interesting division between Mahomedaner, Katholiken & Griech-Orient. (Orthodox), easy to guess it means ''Bosniak, Serb & Croat or Slovenian in modern terms most of the time.

Look how high amount of blond hair is when you consider Slovenia geographic location.

22,2 % of light blond! among slovenian athletes. Togheder with dark blond it comes above 40% of blonds which is huge. But I'm pretty sure German minority was counted in this statistics also.

Yes it's interesting how pure blond doesn't always correlate with pure dark. The latter seems to be always more latitude oriented than the first. Also for example Livi's map of italy blond types is less latitude dependant than dark types. Austria also; It seems to have even slightly less pure blonds than Slovenia, but much less pure dark types. Will post Austria soon.
