Messi had the edge in terms of achievement 4-5 years ago, but Ronaldo has kept on where Messi tailed off since then and shown amazing consistency in his 30s. I know people will always consider Messi a better pure 'footballer' but the game is a results oriented business, and there'll never be an absolute machine like Ronaldo again. Also lets not forget he has proven himself and dominated the two best leagues in the world, soon to be 3, in all different conditions and overcome all physical challenges. I'll always respect the way Ronaldo improved himself from when he first began at Man Utd, when he was just a skinny kid with lots of stepovers ('one trick pony', 'bambi on ice'), he's undeniably worked harder than Messi to get where he is, who's had a team built around him since he was a teenager.
    Spoiler!

    Cricket - Don Bradman
Rugby Union - Gareth Edwards or Richie McCaw I guess
    Darts - Phil Taylor
Aussie Rules Football - Leigh Matthews/Dick Reynolds/Gary Ablett - hard to say, no clear standout in the game
Rugby League - Wally Lewis/Andrew Johns/Cameron Smith? - also difficult to say, never followed it
    Spoiler!

Interesting, my list was very American sports oriented. You cover all the sports I know nothing about, esp darts. Now I have to look up the great Phil Taylor.

Zlatan as the best footballer is absolutely ridiculous.

Football: Messi and C.Ronaldo (no one comes close to their consistency), we will see who is the best when their careers are over

Basketball: Michael Jordan (no one else comes close, he had a special aura)

Boxing: Sugar Ray Robinson is considered by many boxing experts the best pound for pound boxer in history.
Ali and Marciano are also contenders.

    MMA: Fedor Emelyanenko

Tennis: Federer all around; Nadal in clay

F1: Ayrton Senna in terms of natural talent and ability; Schummacher had the best career but already on a era when cars were highly electronic (basically won who had the best car)

Swimming: Phelps, just look at the medals he won, not even debatable

    MotoGP: V. Rossi

Athletics: Carl Lewis, specifically sprinting U.Bolt

    Futsal: Ricardinho

    Wrestling: A. Karelyn

LOL, I don't think that even Real Madrid fans truly believe it. Anyway how could you know about it, how many times you saw him play?

Those old players nowadays would be average, they were technically quite limited by today standards, and the tactical schemes they play against were ridiculous.

    Larry Bird does.
Nice joke, Bird played in Celtic wich was the best team in the 80's, all players were very good.

When Jordan arrived at Chicago they were nothing, even when they became champions (3 times and I remind you that Jordan abandoned basketball for 2 years when he was at the peak, after the murder of his father, when he came back won 3 more) only Scotty Pippen was any good, the other team mates were just average players. Jordan did it all, was the leader on the field, made his team mates better, was much more spectacular than Bird and always decisive in key moments.

Jordan is probably the GOATEST among all team sports GOATs.

Maradona is the GOAT re: football
If you see a post in red font made by my username, that means that it is Pompey's post, not mine.
