DNA results of Hungarian forum members

Szerintem a tirpákot nem a szlovákokra használják, hanem a hülye emberekre. Budapesten sose hallottam hogy ezt a szlovákokra mondták volna.

A tirpák lehet ilyen szitokszó is, de nem feltétlen. Most utánanéztem, hogy külön a nyírségi szlovákokat jelöli (előtte azt hittem északkeleti szlovákokra en bloc használják, tehát borsodiakra is). Nekem van ismerősöm aki oda valósi és azt mondja magáról, hogy ő tirpák.

Curious, where is your Hungarian and German heritage from, regionally?

Mine:

Paternal ancestry is a mix of Western/Eastern Hungarian.
Maternal ancestry is a mix of Western/Southern German, with minor English and possible Prussian.

My family is from Baranya county. The 1/4 Hungarian is from the southern part of the county called Ormánság, the rest is from some Danube Swabian villages that are part of "schwäbische türkei" (Szágy, Hetvehely, Abaliget, Bükkösd etc.). Part of the Danube Swabian part is traced back to Elsass-Lothringen, part is claimed to be from northern Germany (quite unusual, so I dunno).

Thanks for that. It will be very interesting to see what your NW European/Eastern European/Balkan split is on 23andMe. Do you know if your Danube Swabian ancestors mixed at all with local Hungarians?
