Were you beaten as kids?

If I ever have kids (unlikely) I will never hit them.

I have never hit my kids, and they are VERY well behaved. I have found being firm and having follow thru is the key. I try to make sure to give them lot's of love and respect too. At the same time I am the boss, there is no doubt. Having a loud booming 'Dad' voice also helps.

Exactly how I was raised. Respecting them is huge.

I don't remember much(except being threatened with belts and shoes)except for one time where I was swearing to my father(probably calling him malakas)while he was leaving and came back to spank me.
Another one was when I was swearing again to my mother this time and she put piper in my mouth and if I remember correctly I later threw some toy in her face and I think her glasses were broken and started crying.
Yes I was/I'm an adhd spoiled brat ,punishment does not work on me.

Of course not, my parents are good people. Plus physical violence (punishment) against your own kids are not allowed here (via laws). Been so already quite long times.

What happens when you hit your kid, they take them away ? That's bit extreme. Sometimes moderate violence is necessary to discipline boys. Best to be avoided ofcourse, if there are other ways.
Some kids need firm hand though.
