Why is the Anglo-Caribbean so homophobic when compared to the Spanish and French Caribbean?

Haiti, Cuba, the DR, Puerto Rico are definitely not perfect places to the LGBT+ but they are nowhere near the levels of violent homophobia in places like Jamaica and Trinidad.

What explains the disparity?

I like Jamaicans, they're a friendly enough bunch but yes Jamaicans families tend to be on the homophobic side. Perhaps they see the degeneracy that occurs in pride parades in different parts of the world and don't want their kids to get any ideas

I know a few people from Jamaica. Mostly raised in the USA. Very nice people. It seems Muslim and Black countries are pretty anti gay. Not really an Anglo/Spanish legacy matter.

Almost as wonderful as Saudi Arabia giving women some rights. StonyArabia is very proud.

Because they are protestants and they are more conservative and practice more their religion than catholics. The most catholic countries in the New World are in fact the most gay-friendly except Uruguay.
