Italian ethnic or nationality wise? I wouldn’t change my ancestry but maybe it would be interesting to live there for a short time.

I wanted to be Italian because of my roots, because I grew up with my Italian (Piedmontese) grandparents in a heavily Piedmontese area, surrounded by Piedmontese gastronomy, culture, etc. which I feel the closest to. So 5 years ago I started the process and got my Italian citizenship by descent, and I felt really proud. The Italian passport is very useful too, so that was a motive as well. I should add that Italian is one of the most beautiful sounding languages in the world, so learning it was pretty cool.

So I'm half ethnic Italian (actually Piedmontese, since there's no ethnic "Italian") but formally Italian (since I'm a citizen of the country).
