Nothing European about them. They are almost middle eastern - Caucasian/Anatolian is more fitting description though.

Armenian is a Indo-European language, meaning that it is a language which shares a common ancestor (Proto-Indo European) with almost all European languages.

To say “you are” in Armenian is “Du es/ Tu es” to say “ You are” in Latin/Spanish is “ Tu es”, to say “light” in Armenian is “ Luys” to say “light” in Latin/Spanish is “ Luyz”, to say “door” in Armenian is “tur/dur” to say “door” in German is “tur”, to say “rock” in Armenian is “kar” to say “rock” in Irish-Gaelic is “Karrag”. To say "there is" we say 'ka' the same as in Albanian etc.

Armenians are genetically almost no different than Assyrians. Indo-European steppe admixture is near zero among Armenians. You just speak an Indo-European language which where and how exactly you got it is unclear.

It did not always used to be this way. Armenia used to have a border with the Greeks in Anatolia. Armenians would be culturally closest to the civilizations that inhabited Anatolia prior to Turks invading the region and Islamizing these populations. As far as appearances go, I'd say 1/3 look European, 1/3 Middle Eastern, and 1/3 a mixture of the two.

North Caucasians such as Ossetians, Chechens, Avars, Circassians and others are phenotypically European while culture is absolute unique, excluding their religions. Armenians are Christians, but phenotypically they are absolute West Asians. I am an expert on the Caucasus and former USSR countries.

Armenians are neither Caucasians or Anatolians, they are closer to Mesopotamians. Although, present day Armenians have Caucasian influence, they plot somewhat between Assyrians and Georgians.
