Default South Americans, which U.S. city holds the most prestige in your country: NYC, LA, or Miami?

I noticed a lot of South Americans tend to flock to these 3 cities/metro areas in particular.

But which city holds the most prestige in your country. Which one is the one that the average person tends to desire to live in the most if they were to live in the U.S.?

Probably NYC and LA in equal (NYC is considered the most cosmopolitan city in the earth and LA because of Hollywood , Beverly Hills and many aspects which suggest a very "chic" environment).
Miami is perceived as a very different case comparing to others two, but not for that has more or less prestige, the perception is totally different.
First because of the common use of spanish language there and because it's the city were live the biggest diáspora of our expats around the whole earth.
So, probably it's taken as something more similar and familiar than others...

In Brazil would be NY or Miami.

In fact it's weird cause while there're many brazilians in Miami area, most people tend to make jokes about brazilians living there. In São Paulo people tend to have some love about NY since we see them as somewhat similar (Huge metropolis, huge Italian background, etc). So I can't say if it's Miami or NYC. People usually forget about LA.

If the guy at the counter of the corner store is Colombian or Brazilian, you're in Malden, Medford or Revere

Miami is Colombia's fourth or fifth largest city. So probably it.

As for Argentinians, it's a difficult question.

Miami is the most popular destionation among Argentines for vacation, shopping and living, because of the proximity (its the main point of entry to the US for all Latin American flights), affordability, beaches, climate and the large Spanish-speaking community. But it doesn't really have a "prestige": some people see it as gross or of poor taste, like just a big shopping mall to get cheap stuff you can't get/afford in Argentina (clothing, electronics, etc.), beaches and a tropical climate you can't find here. Nothing more than that.

It's also associated as the top destination for middle-class Argentines who flood Miami whenever the exchange rate is favorable (so you can get a lot of dollars with your salary and it's cheaper to vacation in Miami than in Argentina), buying all the clothing on the GAP, Tommy Hilfigher, Crocs and Polo stores, as well as cheap iPhones. So that's why some people think it's some kind of cliché destination.

NYC and LA have actually more of a "prestige" among Argentines, but not sure if that's the word to define it. People here tend to prefer Europe over the US in that sense.

Belem, Fortaleza, Recife, Salvador, Brasília and Belo Horizonte have direct flights to Miami, but not to New York.
So I think Miami is more famous and brazilians talk more about Miami also.
